Are you standing in line today waiting for the new iPad Pro? Here’s some interesting reading while you wait.
I was certainly excited when Apple announced the iPad Pro back in September. Apple’s commitment to the enterprise has seen some ups and downs, but make no mistake, the iPad Pro was built with the enterprise user in mind.
There are a number of features on the iPad Pro that are well-suited for the enterprise and that will deliver a great user experience.
Here are some of my favorite highlights:
- Performance: The A9X chip is 80% faster than all other portable PCs available in the market today.
- Battery life: A single charge gets you 10 hours of full use.
- Document Reviewing: Do you review a lot of documents? Sometimes it’s easier to quickly put pen to paper. The iPad Pro delivers a digital version of this workflow by allowing the reviewer to mark up a document right on the screen with the Apple Pencil and rapidly provide feedback.
- Improved digital workflows: There is a reason a lot of people have two monitors on their desktop. Toggling between apps and documents isn’t a very efficient way to work. Of all the new features of iOS 9 that can be leveraged on the iPad Pro, the suite of features (Slide Over, Split View and Picture in Picture) that revolve around multi-tasking–in my opinion–will be the most useful for the enterprise user.
With the deployment of Citrix XenMobile Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution in the enterprise, an iPad Pro user will have the best mix of experience and productivity, while ensuring security of the device and data whether the data is at rest or in motion.
The family of XenMobile Worx productivity apps that enterprise users have been enjoying on their smartphones and tablets will immediately be available on the full-size screen iPad Pro. The Worx family of apps includes WorxMail, WorxWeb, WorxNotes, WorxTasks for secure tasks that syncs with outlook tasks, ShareFile for secure file share and sync and QuickEdit for editing Office apps within the XenMobile secure container
Each of the Worx apps is rich with features to support from basic functionality to a power user’s needs in the enterprise. The real strength of Worx apps is based on the out of the box tight integration which enables optimized and secure workflows between them providing an experience of a single system. In addition to the intuitive workflows, each Worx app is fully containerized with it’s own encrypted micro-VPN connection back to the corporate network.
This enables true end-to-end security across device, data, app and the network giving IT and mobility admins some peace of mind.
Enterprises can realize the benefit of allowing users to work on devices and platforms that they’re most comfortable with. There’s no doubt that consumers and business-users alike will be trying out the iPad Pro.
With the Citrix XenMobile solution you’ll be ready when employees come knocking to ask if they can use their iPad Pro for work. As the iPadPro is based on the iOS9 which is gaining tremendous popularity, Citrix XenMobile EMM provides immediate support for iOS9 and eases management for these new iPad Pro devices as they light up in the enterprise.
