You’d better believe it! It’s here! The new Citrix ISA protocol, part of Melio 6 Enterprise RC. Earlier this week we announced release candidate of Citrix Melio 6 and you can be among the First in the World to see Melio 6 in action during the MasterClass on October 13th!
To test drive Melio 6 after the class, you can download the software and install it in your lab.
Melio 6 has the look and feel of Citrix products with a new user interface, as well as optimized performance and scalability for hyper-converged architectures. The Enterprise edition includes the new patent-pending, storage protocol ISA—the Citrix Independent Storage Architecture.
Customers can benefit from the economics of server side storage and hyper converged architecture using Melio’s Tier 1 storage and data services such as QoS, snapshots/DR, data tiering and geo-distribution of data. Melio ISA identifies storage resources on all Melio-powered servers on the network and aggregates them into a common storage pool, which is then shared by all servers providing the high availability you expect.
This means no more dependency on external storage or expensive and proprietary connectivity! We are bringing the cost effective way the cloud providers have been building their data centers based on industry standard servers and proprietary software for some time, to you. Now you can build or start transitioning towards the software defined datacenter using industry standard servers and Melio 6, to accommodate the performance, scale and availability needs of your Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environment.
If you are running XenApp/XenDeskop, you can use Melio 6 to reduce image management, achieve high availability of PVS/MCS, databases and user profiles. Melio 6 is well suited if you have more than one location and want to distribute data across these data centers.
