With this month’s release of NetScaler Gateway, a vast set of additional use cases open up for our new Framehawk display remoting technology.

NetScaler Gateway 11 Maintenance Release 1 (11.0-62.10) not only offers valuable quality improvements, it adds support for the new UDP-based Framehawk virtual channel. When Framehawk first came to market in June, the target use cases were primarily corporate Wi-Fi and broadband satellite or microwave connections.

Now, with NetScaler Gateway 11 MR1, Framehawk becomes available off the corporate network, too, for remote access scenarios such as working from home or the coffee shop or a hotel room. These are places where Wi-Fi is often subject to electromagnetic inference that degrades the quality of the connection. Support for remote access also opens the door to using Framehawk over 3G/4G/LTE connections.

And to make this new NetScaler Gateway release even more valuable, earlier this month we released version 6.0 of the Citrix Receiver for iOS, with Framehawk support. So now you can use your iPad or iPhone with Framehawk outside of the office, too.
