Who doesn’t love winning an award?

And what’s not to love? Awards are great because they offer recognition for doing something special and validation that you’re on the right track.

Today on Citrix.com, there’s a new report from leading analyst Frost & Sullivan that names Citrix XenMobile as the 2015 winner of the Global Next-Gen Enterprise Mobility Solutions Visionary Innovation Leadership Award.

After comparing the top 3 vendors in this space, Citrix came out on top as the clear leader for offering complete mobile workspace solutions.

I’m going to speak for everyone here at Citrix and say that we’re decidedly excited about the recognition.

A lot of hard work has gone into building cross-platform and cross-product workspace solutions that deliver a great experience for the end-user, as well as IT.  But while recognition is great, I find the validation aspect of this award to be the most meaningful and compelling.

For the past 5 years, we’ve been listening and working to deliver mobile solutions that meet broad customers requirements. We’ve seen the MDM market mature into EMM, a market with many layers of technology including MDM, MAM, MCM (Mobile Content Management) and secure productivity apps. Proper anticipation and vision into where market was heading has put Citrix XenMobile in the unique position to offer complete mobile solutions today.

Citrix mobile strategy timeline:

  • 2011 – Citrix acquires ShareFile for enterprise file sync/share (MCM)
  • 2012 – Citrix acquire Zenprise for MDM (XenMobile)
  • 2013 – Citrix/XenMobile releases WorxMail and WorxWeb a secure email client and browser
  • 2014 – Worx family of productivity apps expands to include WorxNotes, QuickEdit and ShareConnect.
  • 2015 – XenMobile 10 Unified EMM console for MDM and MAM
  • 2015 – New Worx apps including WorxTasks, Citrix for Salesforce and more….

As you can see, Citrix has had a very clear vision for mobility. We were moving towards EMM before EMM was an official term.

But EMM by itself still is not enough.

If you’re going to empower a mobile workforce with all the tools and resources they’re accustomed to from their desktop you also need to be able to deliver virtualized apps and desktops to the mobile device.

From the Frost and Sullivan report, “The company’s vision for a software-defined workplace encompasses virtualization, mobility management, networking and SaaS solutions. This integrated environment fosters mobility and collaboration, making businesses and workers agile, flexible and productive.”

With Citrix, any app on any device at any location is available to customers today via Citrix Workspace Suite.

“Citrix Workspace Suite is a single, flexible solution that offers IT the ability to streamline mobility, application and desktop management.  Additionally, it is optimized to meet the performance and mobility requirements of each user by providing instant access to Windows, Web and mobile apps, data, personalized desktops, and services to any device over any network without compromising on security.”

Customers today are looking towards single vendor end-to-end solutions to deliver secure workspaces. Single-vendor solutions defined by software are easier to consume and simpler to deploy while offering a superior experience for both the end-user and for IT.

The Frost and Sullivan Award recognizes and validates the Citrix XenMobile vision and strategy while confirming our ability to deliver a complete software-defined workspace today.
