Last year at Citrix Synergy 2014, Mitch Parker and Mark Templeton stood onstage during the keynote and introduced us to Citrix Workspace Cloud: the platform to deliver the mobile workspace experience.

In case you missed the 2014 demo or if you just want a quick refresher, the demo video is available here.

Since then, we have been really busy with Citrix Workspace Cloud and are preparing even more information and sessions on the topic for Citrix Synergy 2015 coming up in May. But first, I would like to tell you a little bit about me and my role with Citrix Workspace Cloud.

Citrix Workspace Cloud is the platform and within it, Citrix will provide different services. One of those is the “Apps & Desktops Service.”

This is where I come in. I’m the Senior Product Manager for the “Apps & Desktops Service” to be delivered via the Citrix Workspace Cloud platform and I’m excited to be bringing more information about it to Synergy 2015 in Orlando in SYN 241: Workspace Cloud –Apps and Desktop Service presentation on May 13th at 2:30pm EST. Joining me for this deep dive technical look at the Apps & Desktops service is Senior Architect, Leo Singleton.

During this session, we’ll dive into the technical details of how the Apps & Desktops Service transforms the way you can deliver virtual apps and desktops. Today, you likely have XenApp or XenDesktop physically installed on servers running in your corporate datacenter, giving virtual app and desktop access to your employees located throughout the world. Now, with the new XenApp and XenDesktop FMA (FlexCast Management Architecture), Citrix can host and enhance the management layer on a cloud that Citrix manages. We abstracted the management layer from the workloads, which is what gives XenApp and XenDesktop the unique ability to manage virtual apps and desktops across different operating systems from a single, unified management layer.

Here’s the great part: you can continue to own and manage your workloads in the environment that best aligns with your business needs and you can keep workloads in your corporate datacenter or in a public cloud, or a combination of both.

I don’t want to give too much away, but I also know you probably have more questions about this exciting new service, so I worked with Carisa Stringer to do a short intro video to answer some of the most frequently asked questions. We want you to get excited about Citrix Workspace Cloud and the Apps & Desktops Service.

Hope you enjoy the video and see you in a few weeks in Orlando!
