Just a quick blog and personal recommendation for what I consider to be hands-down the best CAD user and industry event in EMEA, possibly the world. In fact it doesn’t just cover CAD but CAM, CAE, PLM, Rendering, 3D technologies, haptic devices, virtual reality, 3D Printing; with 4 streams of technology.
Develop3D LIVE! Will be held at Warwick University, UK, on March 26th 2015, with headline sponsorship from Dell and AMD. The list of exhibitors is huge covering all aspects of interest to a designer; the organisers are Develop 3D one of the biggest and most prestigious CAD magazines and online resources. On top of that the event is complete FREE!
- Tickets to attend are FREE, but you must be registered to attend and be warned they sell-out FAST: visit DEVELOP3D LIVE here to get your ticket
The calibre of the speakers this event attracts is always stunning, this year’s program has already announced:
- Dominic Wilcox, designer
- Richard Varvill, Reaction Engines
- Carl Bass, Autodesk CEO
- Dan Staples, VP of Mainstream Engineering R&D at Siemens PLM
- Gian Paolo Bassi, SolidWorks CEO
- Mark Sanders, Inventor
- Jon Hirschtick, Onshape CEO and founder of SolidWorks
- plus many more you can read about here
Over 60 firms, spanning four exhibition spaces, will showcase the very latest in product development technology. You can read the daily growing exhibitors list here (basically everyone in CAD and every technology that matters will be there!).
I went last year and wrote this review alongside 7 other attendees about how much I gained from and enjoyed attending. A lot of our key ISV partners who have been virtualising their applications will be there and it’s a great chance for me to catch up with partners such as Autodesk, Siemens PLM, Lightworks, Lenovo, SolidWorks. I always appreciate the chance to talk to real designers and try out all the hands-on demos.
This event is so good I would actively encourage those in EMEA to consider a trip to the UK to attend. The conference is near to good transport links (motorway links and Birmingham Airport) and the heart of the UK motor industry. With other attractions such as Shakespeare’s Stratford, Warwick Castle and The National Motor Heritage Centre nearby, it’s even a good event to bring the family along to.
