At Citrix Summit, one of the most popular marketing questions from Citrix service providers was “how can I create a video to market Desktops-as-a-Service?” The Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS) market is growing quickly – and Citrix Service Provider-based DaaS solutions provide complete PC-style Desktops-as-a-Service for applications and email securely delivered over the web. Today small and large service provider firms have a timely end goal: educate Desktops-as-a-Service prospects with videos that best showcase their DaaS offering.

Video is accessible to busy buyers. Videos can play while a buyer enjoys a cup of coffee, waits at the airport gate, or multi-tasks during another work activity. YouTube has made video very accessible, searchable and a common pre-purchase research tool.
Producing a Desktops-as-a-Service Video: High End or $100 Investment?
Producing a Desktops-as-a-Service thought leadership video can involve a professional film crew or be an in-house low key production. Videos can be created on reasonable budgets. For example, Vieo Design blogged tips to produce a video for $100 (USD) using an iPhone microphone app and a few inexpensive lights from the local home improvement store. This is attainable for most budgets and skill levels.
Be creative about finding video resources. Local colleges, small marketing agencies or even freelancers may be the answer to creating your own Desktops-as-a-Service videos.

In 2014, Citrix created a customizable “What is a hosted desktop?” video for Citrix Service Providers to brand with their own logo and website. The video is targeted to the SMB audience and can be translated into local languages.
Service providers using this video relay it explains DaaS for SMB buyers who may not be familiar with terms like hosted VDI or even virtualization. It continues to be a very popular resource in 2015.
