Just in time for Christmas, we have a great present for our customers with a new version of Receiver for Chrome. We have taken your feedback and added new capabilities in Receiver for Chrome to enable more use cases in your Citrix-Google deployment at work. The major improvement in this release is the support for Citrix Web Interface 5.4 for customers not deploying StoreFront yet. Now you can enter the Web Interface URL in Receiver for Chrome and get access to Windows Apps and Desktop aggregated by it. Additionally, you can also now open the downloaded ICA file in Citrix Receiver to launch your XenApp and XenDesktop session. You can take advantage of this along with features like local printing, direct SSL with XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6, and app switcher to switch between the apps from the previous Citrix Receiver for Chrome 1.4 release now on the Chrome web store to deploy XenApp and Xendesktop on Chrome devices.
This release has also improved the robustness of connectivity to StoreFront when you have configured the Receiver with external URL and beacons.
Now enterprise administrators will gain application and network visibility for the XenApp and XenDesktop sessions using HDX insight with Citrix NetScaler and CloudBridge. The administrator gets the required level of details like start up time, round trip time, bandwidth usage etc. with HDX insight. Refer this blog for more details on HDX insight.
CloudBridge 7.3.1 in your deployment with Receiver for Chrome will give you additional benefits of compression and quality of service. Refer this blog for more details on Citrix CloudBridge.
Overall, this release of Receiver for Chrome helps you support more use cases in your Citrix-Google deployment at work.
Use Receiver for Chrome 1.5 and let us know your feedback.
