Last month, things were looking a little hairy at Citrix. In total, 29 teams from 11 countries took on the Movember challenge of changing the face of men’s health and changing men’s faces — with moustaches. We not only met our big hairy audacious goal of doubling our fundraising from 2013 but tripled it — we raised 60,000 USD! Perhaps next year we will have to make our goal even bigger and hairier.
Globally, over 700,000 people helped the Movember Foundation raise more than 70 million USD. The foundation aims to “transcend a casual discussion about moustache growth into serious conversations about men’s health.” Awareness, coupled with the funds for lifesaving cancer research and an action plan to connect the top researchers around the world, has proved successful.
Within Citrix, five teams battled for top team status. Our ShareFile team in Raleigh took an early lead.
But, in the final days of November the Parsippany, New Jersey, office effectively used the Citrix Charitable Matching Gift program to bring their total to just over 10,000 USD, landing them in first place.
