You may remember that a couple months back we released the PVD Tool to monitor PVD machines (read the original blog post). Since then we have refactored the PVD Tool to improve the performance and stability. The only visible change apart from the performance is the “Copying Snapshot” information below the catalog names on the left hand side of the tool.

“Copying Snapshot” shows the progress between the time when the administrator selects the MCS based catalogs for update and the time when actual image update starts. During that time, MCS creates the copy of the snapshot and, depending on the version of the hypervisor, it will run the PVD inventory operation.

Here is a snapshot of the latest version of the PVD Tool:

PVD Tool is available as a part of the XenDesktop 7.6 DVD\layout and can be found in following location inside the DVD “\Support\Tools\Scripts\PvdTool”.

When logged in to your MyCitrix account, you can also download it here.

We hope you will like the changes and we are always open to feedback.
