Our Citrix Receiver for iOS 5.9.1 update supporting iOS 8 is now available on the iOS App Store. If you’ve already upgraded to iOS 8, planning to upgrade to iOS 8, or planning to purchase the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, you should download the Receiver for iOS update using the App Store today.
iOS 8 is the massive software update from Apple with over 4,000 new APIs, App Extensions, Touch ID security, Apple Payments, and more. The Receiver for iOS 5.9.1 update is fully compatible with iOS 8 with the same great features as earlier versions of Receiver for iOS and can be used with several versions of XenApp and XenDesktop, including the just released XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6
The update also includes some great new capabilities:
Siri Dictation – The ability to use Siri dictation with Citrix Receiver returns. One of our top requested features, iOS 7 prevented its use. Enhancements in iOS 8 re-enables its use.
In-session App Switching – This new feature enables you to use more than one application at a time, and switch between apps with the swipe of a finger. The In-session App Switcher starts automatically when you open a second app in the same Windows session. You can swipe from the edge of the screen to select the next running published app. To use this feature, the apps must be published by the IT Admin on the same server.
Workspace Control – Another new feature allows you to suspend work and resume at a later time, without having to restart each application or recall which applications were in use.
Improved supportability –For admins, we’ve enabled Advanced Logging to gather diagnostic data for authentication, store, and connection issues. The logging functions is in advanced Settings.
If you’re currently running Receiver for iOS 5.9, update it to ensure Receiver functions properly on your iOS 8 device. Additional information is available in our Receiver and iOS 8 support article.
