VMware has released a new app virtualization component to Horizon 6 and of course we’ve been busy breaking it down and comparing to XenApp. “How does it compare,” you ask? Take a look at our handy chart below.
There’s an old saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and that’s very true for the diagram above. It outlines the key areas of differentiation between Citrix XenApp 7.5 and the new Horizon 6 Application Publishing Feature (aka Horizon 6 – RDS). You’ll notice that in each of the primary functional areas (Management, UX, Security, etc.) Citrix XenApp is listed on the left and Horizon 6 is represented on the right. The lowest block in each column represents basic functionality with additional blocks layered on top representing additional or advanced features in that category. If the block is empty the functionality doesn’t exist!
I want to invite you to join my webinar “Compare Citrix XenApp and VMware Horizon 6”, to learn more about what is behind the colored blocks and why some of the blocks on the Horizon 6 – RDS side are actually empty.
At this webinar we’ll:
- Discuss essential management functionality you can’t get in Horizon 6
- Expose user experience issues that impact productivity
- Examine security deficits that invite data leakage and circumvent security policies
- Perform a live Q&A with our expert team
