Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS), mobile workspaces, mobile device management, file share and sync – the world of Citrix service providers is changing rapidly. The most popular sessions at Citrix Summit and Synergy are the technical sessions – and the questions and hypotheticals continue long after the session ends. With the power of Citrix GoToWebinar, Citrix Service Providers were able to have that same experience – asking questions live with technical experts from product management, engineering, architecture and more – on the two recent Citrix Service Provider Technical Office hours webinars. Current Citrix Service Provider partners can view the full webinars under the Citrix Service Provider Center of Excellence Community section.

Just like walking into a virtual conference room of Citrix techies, Technical Office hours gave service providers around the globe the opportunity to ask their tough questions, share ideas for product direction and propose new setups for their hosted desktops and apps environment.  Current Citrix Service Providers can view the recordings here, but we’ve highlighted here some of the most frequent questions.

Citrix Workspace Services: Mobile Workspaces on the Best Cloud- Yours

Just announced at Citrix Synergy, Citrix Workspace Services was a hot topic.  Check out the full list of blogs, videos, and the complete Synergy session explaining Workspace Services at

Q: Do I need an on premise Desktop Delivery Controller anymore with Workspace Services? A: No – Workspace Services will empower service providers to rapidly build and offer desktops-as-a-service, virtual application delivery and mobility services from any cloud. Workspace Services features cloud-based orchestration and delivery for Citrix technology. Citrix is leveraging many of Microsoft investments in Azure, Remote Desktop Services, RemoteApp, System Center and more for Citrix Workspace Services.

Q: From a Citrix Service Provider perspective, can the mobile workspaces created with Workspace Services still be branded with my brand rather than Citrix branding, just like we can now with hosted desktops? A: Yes. Workspace Services can be fully branded and can be integrated into the Citrix self-service interface that you expose to your tenants.

Q: Would there be a Workspace Services API exposed to us so we could be able to auto-provision, track usage and bill Citrix services for our customers? A: Yes. There will northbound APIs to integrate tenant usage into third party ecommerce systems.
