No, you’re not seeing double, IBM has doubled up their sponsorship of Citrix Synergy 2014 and is giving you more to love from IBM AND SoftLayer.

I’ve already talked a bit about what IBM’s Systems & Technology Group is doing at Synergy, so now I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to bring you up to speed on what IBM Global Technology Services and SoftLayer (an IBM company) are doing at Synergy.

First let’s start with their booth happenings. At the booth, you’ll get a front row seat to a demos on hosted desktop virtualization solutions, and how to set up and optimize hybrid cloud with SoftLayer and Citrix. Also, learn about the IBM MobileFirst offerings and services that feature Citrix technologies, including XenDesktop, XenApp, ShareFile and XenMobile.

Are you up for a challenge? SoftLayer is hosting a Server Challenge in their booth. This is a race. All participating contestants will have the opportunity to try and assemble a server rack and plug in a series of network cables in the fastest time. The winner during Synergy will get a MacBook Air.

Still want to hear more? Attend IBM’s breakout session at Synergy (SYN124), “When workplace meets cloud: It’s not your father’s VDI!” The interactive session is on May 7 from 2:30 pm – 3:15 pm and features top architects from IBM Cloud and Mobility & Client Computing Services who will discuss the evolution of on-premise and cloud architectures that have led to today’s cloud-based mobility and virtualization offerings.

IBM’s CTO and Distinguished Enginieer, Pat Bolton is also participating in a panel discussion at our first ever, Women in Technology luncheon. During this sold out event, attendees will hear from Pat and other female IT leaders, share their viewpoints, experiences, challenges, achievements and career paths as women in IT.

So in short, IBM (and hopefully you) will be very busy at Synergy. I’m looking forward to seeing the doors open tomorrow and to seeing you there!
