Pssst – hey ….fellow IT admin! Want to be a hero?
I know being a hero can be rare at times, no matter how much effort you put into the technology you provide your users. After spending 10 years as an IT admin before joining Citrix in 2005, I’ve experienced that warm blanket of “thank you, we love it! It’s so much better than the previous system!” a few precious times. That warm blanket can be equitable to a hero’s cape…but be sure to stay away from missile launchers, jet turbines, express elevators, snag on take-offs, and vortex’s!
However, even the most basic of services, like remote access to desktops, can be a focal… and vocal point of their frustration, no matter what. In many cases it can be downright unexciting and not a service your users are thrilled to interact with, especially when circumstances arise when they are unexpectedly forced to use it (ice storms, illness, etc).
In my session: Session: SYN313: Become an instant hero next week with Remote PC Access – we’ll aim to change that, and show you how you can have another opportunity to be that IT hero by revolutionizing your existing remote access to desktops. Some of you are already very aware of the basics of Remote PC Access and or those that are not I invite you to review my remote desktop mobility blog here , which includes a link to the demo video.
In this once-only session, we’ll tour through the architecture, admin/user experiences, and some deployment best practices to help you be successful immediately….. and not in months or weeks, but in days. Effortlessly simple connections with secure mobility that integrates easily into your environment should be the norm, and who doesn’t want to eliminate help desk calls, environment overhead, and lengthy instructions on how to connect?
We’ll also take a deep dive into how the new functionality in XenDesktop 7.5 leverages Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2 to provide seamless Wake on LAN functionality for your green computing initiatives.
Join me in Los Angeles, as you and I break down the walls of traditional remote access, in order for you to create a more exciting experience that your users will thank you for deploying.
