The new NetScaler MPX 8005 and MPX/SDX 8015 appliances address XenDesktop, XenApp and XenMobile customers, along with midsize enterprise accounts of all types. Learn about the 2.5x increase in capacity with the ability to run all functional modules with no limits.
On February 20, Citrix introduced a new NetScaler MPX hardware platform for the midrange market. This new design is composed of two models that provide additional scalability, a superior performance-to-price ratio, and advanced SSL capacity. They target smaller and medium-size enterprises, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop virtual solution deployments and other opportunities.
The models are the MPX 8005 and MPX/SDX 8015 with 5 and 15 Gbps of Layer 7 throughput, respectively. Both are available with Pay-As-You-Grow and Burst Pack performance and clustering license upgrades. Each is available with two port configuration options:
- 6×10/100/1000 BASE-T copper and 6x1000BASE-X SFP (fiber or copper)
- 6×10/100/1000 BASE-T copper and 2x10GE BASE-X SFP+
These models, including cluster license upgrades, are available now. List pricing for the MPX 8005 model starts at $25,000 per unit and $48,000 for the MPX 8015. They are available with all three NetScaler editions. A new NetScaler datasheet is posted on Citrix.com/netscaler.
