Just a quick blog to let you know about a couple of upcoming webinars from IMSCAD a long-standing Citrix and Autodesk partner who took part in some of the launch events around our launch of XenDesktop HDX 3D Pro shared hardware GPU solutions developed with NVIDIA GRID vGPU.

You can sign-up on IMSCAD’s events page, here. There are two webinars planned at 30minutes long shouldn’t take up too much time!

  • Understanding XenServer 6.2 & Nvidia GRID vGPU (EMEA) XenServer integrates NVIDIA GRID vGPU technology for enabling the only shared GPU solution on the market that supports 3D professional graphics workloads using VDI.
  • Date: 04 March, 2014

Although there has been a lot of interest around the new vGPU features, Citrix and long-established partners such as IMSCAD have been working with CAD vendors and users and exploiting other GPU based technologies such as GPU sharing for XenApp and GPU pass-through. IMSCAD have experience of providing 24/7 support for mission critical, customer environments through global data centres since 2003. In particular I think their webinars should be of interest to those looking at deploying global mobility solutions on challenging infrastructures. IMSCAD have some very interesting case studies (this video will give a fast overview) of existing mature solutions in industries such as CAE and BIM. Their website carries further written details of customer success stories, here.

IMSCAD are global specialists in planning and deploying CAD/3D apps on Citrix. They cut their teeth with Autodesk and were contracted to certify and test Autodesk design applications on Citrix. They have deployed 100s of customers globally and have built up an impressive knowledge base. IMSCAD have traditionally always worked with channel partners and they have only delivered solutions through the Autodesk channel partners to date, but now they have a model to support global Citrix resellers.

Those of you who read my blog regularly know that as an ex-CAD engineer, I have a particular interest in optimizing and understanding virtualized CAD workloads. I also don’t recommend companies or partners without getting some degree of first-hand experience of their service or products. In this case I’ve spent quite a lot of time over the last few months emailing and talking to IMSCAD on the phone and was reassured that they really do seem to have expertise in the handling of CAD data and understanding the user workflows and usage of these applications (they passed quizzing on HLR and wire-frame usage!). I felt they had genuine experience and understanding regarding how to deliver real performance in complex realistic deployments.

If you’re a Citrix partner or end-user looking to implement a CAD/3D graphics virtualization solution, IMSCAD have said you can talk to the same team I have been talking to by contacting Adam Jull Adam.jull@imscadglobal.com
