Cloudian has long partnered with Citrix to deliver enterprise grade, cost-effective and scalable cloud storage solutions. Indeed, by integrating the Cloudian storage solution with Citrix CloudPlatform, the management and deployment of large cloud infrastructure has been greatly simplified. Today’s announcement of XenDesktop bringing desktop virtualization to the cloud is incredibly exciting as it underscores a major theme of IT today: VDI, mobile and the cloud are converging. Citrix is on the cutting edge of making this powerful new world a reality, and we are pleased to be part of the solution.
Cloudian, together with Citrix CloudPlatform powered by Apache CloudStack, will enable XenApp/XenDesktop implementations to be scalable, elastic, geo-distributed, and benefit from cloud economics. The result is increased reliability, scalability, manageability, and lower cost. Cloudian’s enterprise-ready distributed object storage technology, S3 compatibility, and a strong VAR ecosystem are essential ingredients for any cloud-based VDI implementation.
Unlike competing solutions, XenDesktop supports an “any cloud” strategy that does not lock customers into a proprietary cloud but allows them to leverage any of the large public clouds on the market. Cloudian also believes that enterprises should be able to work via any type of cloud that they choose, be it private, public, or hybrid.
We applaud Citrix’s latest move to make cloud computing powerful and affordable. We look forward to delivering many new solutions together to enable this new era of the mobile enterprise.
