Logan Harbaugh of EDTECH Magazine posted a review of Citrix XenDesktop 7, focusing on its ability to simplify VDI for students and administrators.  Logan tested XenDesktop 7 on an older PC, new PC and Android tablet, and highlighted the ability to access files, Microsoft Office apps, email and VoIP apps seamlessly on each.

EdTech Students want easy access their classroom applications from anywhere, on campus or off campus, using any device they want.  Unlike the other traditional VDI solution, only XenDesktop delivers virtual apps and desktops using single unified platform, providing self-service access for users (in this case students) and simplified management for IT.

Logan noted, “XenDesktop 7 offers substantial improvements over previous versions, integrating functionality from a previously separate application, XenApp, while offering a reliable and cost-effective way to provide mobile users what they expect.”
