For those of you who are just tuning in, here’s the hubbub! I’m Blake Cotton, a member of the Citrix WW Channel Marketing team, and I’m inviting you to join the conversation through social media channels. Although the topics I’ll cover each month are also presented in Citrix Partner News, a blog format is more interactive than a newsletter. It gives each of you the opportunity to express your opinions, ask questions and pass the information along to colleagues or customers.
The topic of this blog is faster and easier application virtualization with Citrix AppDNA. To help you address your customers’ needs, Citrix is including a free, limited functionality version of AppDNA application migration software in Citrix XenDesktop 7 and Citrix XenApp 6.5 FP2 Platinum editions.
Accelerating XenApp application virtualization just got easier with the inclusion of a free, limited functionality version of AppDNA application migration software in XenDesktop 7 and XenApp 6.5 FP2 Platinum Editions.
Customers can now automatically check compatibility for applications to be delivered in a XenApp hosted environment. The Excalibur Platinum license provides access to these AppDNA features:
- Unlimited XenApp hosted application testing and remediation
- Unlimited application imports – test some or all applications in the enterprise
- Effort Calculator to size and scope the migration effort
Customers may also purchase one of the following licenses to expand AppDNA capability:
- AppDNA Standard for physical to physical migrations (Windows OS and Windows Server)
- AppDNA Enterprise for physical to virtual full migrations (App-V)
These full, for-cost editions of AppDNA enable customers to automate application compatibility.
AppDNA identifies the effect of application issues and proposed implementations on users, workgroups and devices. IT teams large and small can complete projects more quickly at lower risk and cost. With AppDNA, customers can accelerate technology initiatives including VDI and Windows XP and Windows Server 2012 migration.
Note there is no discount at this time for upgrading from the free limited version to a paid version. For FAQs and new sales slides, visit the AppDNA Success Kit on Sales Knowledge Base. Also, check out this new blog.
