After almost 11 years at Citrix, I still feel lucky and proud to work here. According to the results of the San Jose Mercury News Top Workplaces 2013 ranking, many of my colleagues feel exactly the same. Citrix was just named eighth in the “Large Companies” category, one of only three Bay Area companies to be recognized four years in a row.
When I hear employees talk about why they love to work here, there are a number of common themes. What’s the top reason? The people. We have a uniquely talented team, and one that shares a common set of values. Another reason is that they truly enjoy what they do. They get to create, sell, support and use amazing products. As they do, the company grows, and they grow their careers.
Another secret to our success is that we empower employees to work and collaborate from anywhere. Our employees appreciate that they have flexibility in where and how work gets done. When it comes to mobile workstyles, we walk the walk.
Our global teams care about the communities where we live and work, and Citrix supports that by donating products, matching charitable gifts, and providing each employee two eight-hour work days each year to volunteer with the nonprofit of their choice.
For me, Citrix is an amazing place to work. And in an area like Silicon Valley that is known for its highly competitive job market, its especially gratifying to be recognized with a top workplace distinction.
