The topics I’ll cover each month are also presented in Citrix Partner News, but in order to stay on top of best practices, I find that a blog format is more interactive than a newsletter. It gives each of you the opportunity to express your opinions, ask questions and pass the information along to colleagues or customers. Today I am bringing you a webinar on integrating social media into your marketing plan. Since social media is now mandatory for businesses, let’s create some hubbub around social media and the ever-evolving social media landscape of today.

Demand generation can benefit from social media channels in several ways. First, social media allows campaigns to extend far beyond the target audience through sharing, tweeting, posting, liking – actions that incorporate individual opinions and endorsements. Similarly, social media input provides prospects with additional information, validation and insights from the larger community that can help drive action or, at a minimum, spark interest in obtaining more resources.

On June 11, Citrix kicked off the first part of its channel social media training series with Driving Demand through Online Engagement and Social Media.” This one-hour session on using social media was presented by channel marketing expert Heather K. Margolis of the UBM Channel IPED team.

The webinar covered these topics:

  • Building blocks of your online engagement strategy: Learn what things need to be in place to develop a successful strategy.
  • Get more out of your traditional marketing programs: Understand how to leverage your LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn connections and company page to make email campaigns up to 26 percent more successful.
  • Steps for maintaining momentum: Explore tools that should be used once in a while, and learn strategies and tactics that can very easily be added to your everyday process to engage your prospects over the long term.
