I am delighted to announce the Citrix Best of Synergy 2013 Winners for each of our four major markets — mobility, desktop virtualization, cloud and networking.

The winners created the most innovative solutions based on Citrix technologies and were selected by a panel of judges, consisting of executives & product leaders from Citrix. The selection criteria for the awards were: technology innovation, ability of the product/solution to solve a customer need, and propensity to further accelerate adoption within the respective markets served.

Desktop Ecosystem Winner!

Dell – DVS Enterprise

Dell introduced Dell DVS-Enterprise Integrated Storage for Citrix XenDesktop 7. The new solution has demonstrated results that cut the cost of VDI in half. Using local storage, the virtualized desktops are built on modular Dell PowerEdge servers and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V infrastructure which support a range of 50 – 1,000 users in a pooled VDI environment for a compute, storage, and networking infrastructure total cost of less than $200 per user.

Mobility Ecosystem Winner!

ViewSonic – SD-A245 smart display

ViewSonic’s new SD-A245 smart display integrates Citrix’s mobile device management software, XenMobile, in to a 24” AIO desktop with embedded Android 4.2 OS to create the industry’s next generation thin client. The SD-A245 smart display has an embedded Android 4.2.2 OS with Citrix’s mobile device management software XenMobile pre-installed – no other apps are installed on the device when initially shipped from the factory.

Cloud Ecosystem Winner!

CA Technologies – CA Nimsoft Monitor for Citrix CloudPlatform

CA Nimsoft Monitor for Citrix CloudPlatform provides the coverage, insights and automation that administrators need to practically and efficiently monitor dynamic Citrix CloudPlatform-based private, public or hybrid infrastructures, along with the cloud services being delivered. At customizable intervals, CA Nimsoft Monitor can collect availability, capacity and performance metrics and alarms from multiple Citrix CloudPlatform implementations —whether virtual data centers are on-premise, running at a service provider or a combination thereof, deliver single pane- of-glass.

Networking Ecosystem (SDX)!

Blue Cat Networks – BlueCat DNS, DHCP & IP Address Management

The Citrix partner furthest along with their SDX platform support, this is the industry’s first offering of ADC + DNS/DHCP server on a single networking appliance that leverages SR-IOV for network isolation and performance, and integration with NetScaler SDX’s VM provisioning framework. This enables strategic multi-tenant deployment in private cloud build outs without compromise to consolidation ratio, reducing operational expenses, ensuring SLA delivery and protecting investment while shortening time to service provisioning and maintaining app / tenant independence.

Networking Ecosystem!

Palo Alto – Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall

Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls allow customers to safely enable applications and strengthen security posture across the entire organization with firewall policies that use business-relevant elements such as the application identity, which is using the application and the type of content or threat as network access decision criteria. The platform can address a broad range of your network security requirements, ranging from the data center to the enterprise perimeter to the far edges of the network, which includes branch offices and mobile devices. Operating together, Citrix NetScaler Application Delivery Controller and Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall provides enterprises with a powerful, best-in-class network solution for secure application delivery.
