Most partners know what the Citrix Summit conference is – our premier training event for channel partners, including Citrix Solution Advisors, Citrix Service Providers, Citrix Distributors and Citrix System Integrators. It’s being held on May 20-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. However, the strategic importance of Summit may not be as well understood.

Citrix has gone to market via the channel since the company was founded. The value-added resellers and other partners that are active members of our channel program act as a critical extension of Citrix Sales across the globe. They expand the reach of our solutions, our brand and voice.

Summit objectives

To keep partners actively engaged with us, committed to expanding their Citrix business and revenues, and up-to-date on our latest solutions, the Summit conference has several goals:

  • Train and certify partners on Citrix technologies, methodologies and best practices
  • Educate them on solution selling strategies and sales and marketing tools and programs
  • Build stronger relationships between partners and Citrix teams, including product marketing, Technical Support and Citrix Consulting
  • Bring them face-to-face with the Citrix leadership team for insight into future plans, such as product roadmaps, to bolster their business with us

Summit offers intensive training, a free Citrix certification exam on site, the Partner Solutions Center featuring comprehensive program resources and access to subject matter experts, keynotes by Mark Templeton and senior sales executives, and plenty of networking opportunities.

Historically, Summit attracts approximately 1,500 partners, many of them previous attendees. About 60 percent are IT professionals and 40 percent are businesspeople. There are even a few prospective partners, who attend by special request. Interestingly, Summit is seeing an increasing number of first-time participants.

Mobile workstyle solutions

This year’s conference will focus on mobile workstyle solutions and the huge opportunities for partners in this diverse market, which encompasses mobility and cloud platforms, virtualization, cloud networking and collaboration. Partners are looking for ways to new ways to succeed in the mobile workstyle space, so it’s important to help them acquire all the skills and resources needed to sell our solutions effectively. Summit is a major part of this holistic channel strategy.
