With great pride, I would like to share that Citrix has been placed in the Leaders category of the latest IDC MarketScape report “Worldwide client virtualization 2012 vendor analysis”.
Every time I meet a XenDesktop customer they talk about FlexCast technologies and how it has changed the way they deliver desktops to their end user with great user experience. They rave about how XenDesktop and Citrix Receiver help them enable mobile workstyles and increase productivity by delivering both virtual apps and desktops to all their devices while their users are on the go. The below quote and MarketScape graph from Brett Waldman, Research Manager at IDC, validates our focus end user experience and productivity.
Citrix provides a complete solution for virtual apps and desktops. Despite the hype around VDI — which is just one dimension of a complete virtualization portfolio — the company never lost sight of solving its customers’ problem — end-user productivity. It is this forward thinking that has put Citrix in the leadership position.

This is the second year in a row that Citrix has been positioned in the Leaders category of the IDC MarketScape vendor analysis. Last year, Citrix was the ONLY leader in the Desktop Virtualization MarketScape.
This year IDC expanded the scope of the MarketScape to include application virtualization, virtual user sessions (hosted shared desktops) and user state virtualization. The expanded scope which clearly shows that Citrix has more capabilities and a better vision than any other vendor on the report is great research for customers looking for delivering apps and desktops to all users and this complements the Citrix Flexcast vision and message.
Now, let’s take a look at what’s coming up next year for you and how we are pushing the technology boundaries even further.
