It seems like everywhere you go, people are talking about the cloud and rightly so. Cloud is changing how IT manages and delivers IT services as well as how people consume information in their business and personal lives. But despite all the interest and momentum, many people still have concerns about the cloud. In fact, in a new national survey by Wakefield Research, commissioned by Citrix, 32% of respondents said security was a top deterrent to cloud adoption.

At Citrix, we’ve always been focused on providing security focused solutions for our customers. We’ve seen this going all the way back to the early XenApp days and these principles have continued forward into the cloud era. Citrix is committed to helping everyone gain a clear understanding of what the cloud is (and what the cloud is not), how it can help them and how businesses can securely use and build cloud-based services. This is evident in secure-by-design cloud solutions like CloudPlatform powered by Apache CloudStack, CloudBridge and CloudGateway.  Yet these principles go beyond just our own products. It extends well into the IT communities where best practices, reference architectures and innovative thinking on cloud security are being shared and discussed.

To that end, Citrix is pleased to partner with the Cloud Security Alliance to advance the state of cloud security. The mission of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) is to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing, and provide education on the uses of cloud computing to help secure all other forms of computing. “As enterprises increasingly leverage cloud services, security will naturally be a concern. Citrix joining the CSA demonstrates our ongoing commitment towards security and  providing the industry with a secure cloud experience,” said Sheng Liang, CTO for the Citrix Cloud Platforms Group.

Through this partnership, Citrix is excited to work with the CSA and its fellow members to help shape the cloud security guidelines and best practices that will help the entire industry transition into the cloud era.
