Citrix Systems is proud to announce the availability of the next version of Application Streaming, v6.7 on 30th July, 2012. This version is released in a jiffy from the availability of v6.6. Despite the short cycle, this version has numerous changes and additions that improve stability, application compatibility, and performance/scalability. This is inline with the feedback received from our customers over the past few quarters.

The key highlights of this release include:

  1. Streaming 64bit applications to 64bit platforms: This is a direct response to the customers requesting 64bit application compatibility.
  2. Enhanced SDK: For the customers using SDK to create profiles/packages for application streaming, the APIs are enhanced to create browser plug-ins, define rules, sign packages, and also manage services.
  3. Improved Scalability – In response to the market requests, Single Server Scalability overhead has been reduced significantly. This portrays the ability to run more XenDesktops with Application Streaming than the previous version of Application Streaming.

For more information, see Application Streaming v6.7.

Note: The Citrix Streaming Profiler and Citrix Offline Plugin components are updated.

It is not necessary to recreate the profiles/packages (although it’s preferred to reap the full benefits of changes in both the components). The Citrix Offline Plug-in works with the previous version of profiles/packages, as always.

We look forward to hear from you and Happy Streaming!
