The release of the new iPad in March brought advantages and a few challenges for the Receiver for iOS.  One of these new capabilities includes the Retina Display providing higher contrast and higher resolution (2048 x 1536).  Increased pixels per inch allows greater zooming and a sharper image when using the magnifying function.  The 5.5.3 release of Receiver for iOS updated to provide cleaner and sharper images within Receiver to take advantage of the new Retina Display.

A large challenge materialized with the new iPad.  On some environments, when typing a lag exists between the act of typing and the display on the iPad.  This is especially apparent when using 16-bit color on XenApp/XenDesktop.  A resolution to this issue is in progress for the next release of the Receiver for iOS.  However, increasing the color depth to 24-bit on the XenApp/XenDesktop environments reduces the impact.
