Well it has been a busy last few weeks as the Events Team ramps up to deliver what we hope is a stellar event next week. We are dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s to make sure Synergy provides a great atmosphere for learning and networking, and most of all that you, our attendees, feel you are part of a great and close-nit community.

Here are some tips for first-time attendees, past attendees you should also make note, on how you can spend a few minutes planning what you’ll do on site each day so you can get the maximum value from the conference.

Network, network, network.
This conference is a prime place to network to establish new professional relationships, connect with people who share your technical interests and find experts who can serve as resources in the future. So be sure to include networking opportunities in your “to do” list.

If you have not done so, join our Linkedin group where we have open discussions going on right now with your attending peers who would also like to connect with you. The Synergy Mobile App for iPhone and iPad also provides the ability to contact other attendees, so download it now. We will also have an app for Android devices and a mobile site for BlackBerry and other platforms. Find out more at Synergy Mobile.

During Synergy
Every true geek should make a beeline for Geek Speak Tonight! and Geek Speak Live! The first is a happy hour facilitated by Citrix Technology Professionals and CTOs on Tuesday afternoon (4:30 p.m.) and the second is a series of breakouts that run alongside the normal session agenda. The goal for Geek Speak Tonight is informal, cutting edge discussions with like minded folks giving those participating access to great technical content and feedback. They are even serving beer and bar food. Yum.

On site, one of the first must-do activities is the Welcome Reception in the Solutions Expo, where you’ll get a first look at the many sponsor exhibits and enjoy casual conversation with fellow attendees. And while you are there, don’t forget to visit the Citrix Booth; lots of great demos planned for those folks who stop by.

On Thursday, the Synergy Party is another great venue for informal networking, and it’s guaranteed to be a fabulous evening with our guest band, Lifehouse.

Self-paced Learning Labs are the best way to get in-depth technical training when it’s convenient for you. They complement the more traditional, scheduled Instructor-led Learning Labs. No reservations and no laptops are needed for Self-paced Learning Labs – just sit down at one of the 100 workstations and choose your lab topic. Remember that these labs are hosted at the Hilton, which is located within walking distance of Moscone West.

The Citrix mantra is work hard and play hard. With the Synergy Game, delivered through the Synergy Mobile app, you can do both. Points are awarded for participating in various activities during the conference, from May 9 to 11. It’s easy and intuitive – just complete each target activity and enter the associated numeric code in the game interface on your smartphone or tablet. You could win a free trip to a Synergy event of your choice, an Amazon Kindle reader or a gift card.

Well, I hope the above information is helpful in your planning. I am counting down the days until Synergy—8 more left!

See you there and safe travels to all.
