With the dawn of the New Year, the Citrix channel team is rolling out the first of many Enablement resources that will allow our channel partners to take full advantage of the growing interest in and demand for virtualization solutions.  Leading the way is our announcement of Citrix Academy.

As part of our renewed channel vision, which promises to provide the partner community with the expanded tools, knowledge and information that it needs to sell more Citrix products and be more profitable, Citrix Academy is a world class six-week training program specifically designed to help technical resources design, build and manage Citrix Desktop Virtualization projects.

Available exclusively to current partners, the program is a global endeavor, conducted in-person at Citrix campuses in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Santa Clara, CA.  The instructor-led course guides students through everything from basic design and troubleshooting of key Citrix products like XenServer, XenDesktop, XenApp and Netscaler to complex integrations, optimization and scalability, leveraging the same tools, best practices, framework and methodologies that Citrix uses to train our own technical staff.

Graduates of the course will receive a Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) certification, the highest and most prestigious Citrix credential available. We’d encourage anyone with experience in Windows networking and Microsoft Active Directory, and a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) certification in XenDesktop 5, XenApp 6 and XenServer 5 or 6 to make Citrix Academy and the CCIA certification part of their training program for 2012.

In addition to Citrix Academy, on January 13th we announced and released our 2012 Partner Enablement Calendar for the Americas.  This schedule consists of 120+ events held in every major metro in the Americas.

These no-cost, 1 day workshops cover a wide variety of Sales, Demand Generation and Technical Topics.  If you’re looking for technical content, you’ll find a number of workshops covering everything from XenDesktop to Netscaler, all at no-cost to current partners of all levels.

I’m particularly excited to announce that, for the first time ever, we’ll be offering sales training to our partners.  These 1.5 day trainings leverage the same company, same instructors and same content that Citrix uses annually to train our internal sales teams.  This means partners will be able to utilize the same sales language, sales techniques and sales tools that our sales reps use.  I’m really looking forward to the alignment this will create between the two groups.
