In the last blog (/blogs/2011/12/08/cc-5-0new-support-for-more-br-quick-reports-part1/) we discussed the new support for Repeater App Traffic counter group. In continuation to that, we will now discuss part 2 of the new quick reports supported by CC 5.0, Repeater Link Stats counter group.

Part 2-Repeater Link Stats Counter Group

This counter group uniquely identifies a link in the “link statistics table”. The group concentrates on plotting graphs on link based traffic. The basic components of the counters remain the same, just the stream and type of traffic to be analyzed changes with all the three groups from application to QoS and now to link based traffic.

COUNTERS:

  • Link sent volume(bits-per-sec)
    • The total volume of traffic sent on the link, measured in 1000-octets.  Where an octet is equivalent to 8 bits.
  • Link received volume(bits-per-sec)
    • The total volume of traffic received on the link, measured in 1000-octets.
  • Link sent packets
    • The total number of packets sent on the link.
  • Link received packets
    • The total number of packets received on the link.
  • Link dropped sent volume(bits-per-sec)
    • The total traffic not sent on the link due to QoS threshold, measured in 1000-octets. QoS threshold is the bandwidth limit set on the links.
  • Link dropped received volume(bits-per-sec)
    • The total received traffic dropped from the link due to QoS threshold, measured in 1000-octets.
  • Link dropped sent packets
    • The total number of packets not sent on the link due to QoS threshold.
  • Link dropped received packets
    • The total number of received packets dropped from the link due to QoS threshold.

This is a snapshot of the graph for the sent volume traffic over a link in bits per second.

Next Blog, we will be covering Repeater QoS Stats counter group.
