You have probably read about our three Featured Fans – Stefan Hollensteiner, Christian Knermann and Alexander Ervik Johnsen – on the Synergy website. Now, I’d like to introduce one more to round out our featured IT professionals this year!
I would like to now introduce Gareth Murphy, Head of IT, London Overground Rail Operations, Ltd.
Gareth is responsible for the operations and delivery of information and communication systems across London Overground railway stations, depots and offices. The organisation uses Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenServer, and Citrix XenDesktop. Currently, Gareth is overseeing proof of concept on XenApp 6 and XenDesktop 5.5, and is looking at using XenClient to provide a secure yet flexible laptop solution for protecting corporate data and networks.
His main reasons for attending Synergy Barcelona are to learn from and speak to well informed technical people from Citrix and its partners, see how XenClient has developed over the past year and get the latest on virtualising the Citrix Access Gateway product. Gareth plans to attend sessions on XenApp 6.5, XenClient and the Synchronizer and FlexCast hosted shared desktops, as well as some Desktop Transformation series sessions.
Reading about Gareth and his passion for Citrix makes me a new fan of his, and I encourage you to seek out Gareth and our three Featured Fans at Synergy.
A suggestion: if you have access, utilise The Synergy Social Club to make contact with Gareth and the other fans. Connect with them about their experiences with Citrix virtual computing solutions, and what them makes them such big fans of Synergy.
Also, please continue to email your questions about the conference to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and follow me on Twitter @AskIngridBCN.
See you next week in Barcelona!
