We are pleased to provide you with the latest version of the Citrix Reference Architecture for Multi-tenant DaaS.

The Citrix® Reference Architecture for Multi-tenant Desktop as a Service presents guidance for Citrix Service Provider partners in the process of designing their new generation of Desktop as a Service (DaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted services. DaaS and SaaS services leverage the Microsoft® Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) and Citrix Service Provider (CSP) licensing programs to deliver Microsoft Windows® applications and desktops on a pay-as-you-go basis to small and medium businesses. This reference architecture is for service providers that will be managing a multi-tenant application and desktop hosted delivery service rather than an outsourced “IT as a Service” datacenter where the end tenant is managing their own resources.

Over the last year, we have provided several overviews, white papers, webinars, and blog posts that cover the various products and concepts that provide many of the capabilities needed by Citrix Service Providers for DaaS/SaaS hosted delivery. Now much of this information has been consolidated and augmented within this living document. The architecture and supporting documentation will continue to evolve as we add more information regarding concepts from our service delivery blueprint and how they are addressed by new Citrix innovations, acquisitions and partners.  Over the next few months we will be adding an implementation guide to the catalogue that will provide a step-by-step walk-through of how we have built our own in-house DaaS system (yes, we eat our own dog food ;-), so stay tuned.

Personally, I would like to thank all of our CSP and CTP partners that have shared their insights and guidance with us. Their influence has helped us to better understand how Citrix and other technologies are employed in their businesses in order to deliver this new breed of services. This reference architecture represents a common model for DaaS to Small to Medium businesses as a result of their participation.  From a Citrix internal perspective the input and hard work of some big thinkers like: Rick Feijoo, Ashish Gujarathi, Daniel Feller, Tarkan Kocoglu, Thomas Berger and of course John D’Agati, have played a major role in bringing this document to its current state. Most of these guys have posted several blogs over the last year discussing the technical considerations and business considerations of Multi-tenancy and DaaS.

But it doesn’t stop with the release of the document, that’s just a point along the path. We are certain there will be questions and there will be fresh ideas, and of course, as always, we want your insight.

So join me and John — on Wednesday August 17th at 11:00 AM EST for a live “ask the experts” webinar.
