The ATRIX has created a lot of excitement and a lot of questions now that the device will soon be available. As the first real NirvanaPhone many of those questions have to do with what happens when the phone is docked into the HD dock or Laptop Dock.

As a stand alone smartphone the ATRIX is an impressive phone but plugged into a fullsize display it stands apart from anything else available. Launch Webtop with Firefox, Citrix Receiver and the Mobile View of the phone and there is not much you can’t do.

The following demos show how you can access a virtual desktop or apps and at the same time make phone calls, run Firefox locally and even save files to a USB key. If you have additional questions about the ATRIX and Citrix leave them in the comments and we will try to respond.

Log-on to your standard Citrix Web Interface page, run XenApp and Firefox simultaneously and copy & paste between, save data to the ATRIX or a USB key… ( you can even edit the document offline with Quickoffice )

Run XenDesktop Windows 7 Virtual Desktop ( VDI ) full screen at 1280×1024, make and receive phone calls with the speakerphone or Bluetooth headset, talk and work on the virtual desktop at the same time…

Launch a virtual desktop from the HD Dock, hot swap to the Laptop Dock with the session still alive, make a phone call from the Laptop Dock, pick up the phone and keep the call going…
