I’m very excited to announce the new release of XenApp 6 Fundamentals Edition, and it’s is now available for download from MyCitrix. Customers current on Subscription Advantage (SA) can download this release immediately as a benefit of SA.
Like previous releases, XenApp 6 Fundamentals edition continues to be the turnkey application delivery solution for small businesses that enables secure, remote access to users anywhere. What separates XenApp 6 Fundamentals from previous versions are new features and improvements that enable the best end user experience and deliver business applications to the most popular smartphones and tablet devices in the market. Let’s look at What’s New in XenApp 6 Fundamentals edition…
Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)
XenApp 6 Fundamentals edition is designed and built for Windows Server 2008 R2. This is also the first version of XenApp Fundamentals to support the 64-bit system. And because Fundamentals edition is built on Citrix XenApp, small business customers will benefit from XenApp’s high performance, stable and proven application delivery platform.
The Quick Start Wizard that makes XenApp Fundamentals popular with IT generalists remains un-changed. This means minimal relearning or training necessary when upgrading to XenApp 6 Fundamentals.
High Definition User Experience
I’m thrilled to share that XenApp 6 Fundamentals also introduces a broad set of HDX technology designed to provide a high-definition user experience, from Adobe Flash-based videos/applications and USB Plug-n-Play devices and storage drives, to support for real-time communication and collaboration applications over any network.
Universal Smartphone and Tablet Support
With the popularity of smartphones and tablets, many customers want to empower their employees by delivering applications directly to those devices. Configuring smartphone or tablet with XenApp Fundamentals was not very intuitive… until now. Through Citrix Receiver, XenApp 6 Fundamentals now offers customers turnkey support for smartphones and tablets, including iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Windows-based mobile devices.
