I’m pleased to announce the release of version 1.2 of Citrix Receiver for Android, which is now available for download on the Android market.
Version 1.2 of Receiver includes the following new features:
1)Pinch-to-zoom support for devices running Android 2.1 and 2.2. This leads to a much more intuitive way to zoom in and out to view your application’s content. For devices that are running earlier versions of Android we continue to offer the zoom in and out buttons.
2)We’ve removed all of the on-screen controls into the menu structure which has led to a cleaner, less cluttered screen.
3)There is no longer a dependency on the device having a trackball to be able to scroll as we have introduced a new scrolling mode. This mode allows you to easily scroll the content in your application using a single gesture.
4)More intuitive gesture support for right clicking and dragging.
5)Changes to the way that panning works to ensure your application is always visible.
6)A refreshed set of icons to take advantage of high DPI screens.
Finally we’ve also introduced support for custom configuration paths on Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition.
My colleague Adam Jaques has produced a set of videos showing Citrix Receiver for Android in action. You can find these on the Citrix Community site at http://community.citrix.com/display/xa/Citrix+Receiver+for+Android.
We hope that you find these features useful and as always we are constantly working to simplify our user experience. We are already working on version 1.3 of Receiver and as always we welcome your feedback and input into improving Citrix Receiver for Android.
