Here are some great new resources now available to help you configure the various Citrix HDX technologies for a high definition multimedia user experience with XenDesktop 4:

  • Best Practices for Optimizing HDX Technologies for XenDesktop 4. Citrix Consulting’s new whitepaper starts with a complete overview of each of the eight HDX categories. Then, it reviews key points for configuring these technologies to address a wide range of multimedia use cases. See Zack Menegakis’s recent blog post.
  • HDX Internals video from Synergy San Francisco.  Juan Rivera and I delivered a seminar at Synergy 2010 in San Francisco full of important tips for optimizing the various HDX technologies. Catch our performance in living color on Citrix TV! (Happily, there was no actual singing or dancing, but there are some great video clips and demos.)
  • New update of the HDX Monitor. The HDX Monitor just keeps getting better. As I highlighted in my previous blog post, this tool is indispensible for validating your HDX configuration.  I like the new Generate Report feature which puts all of the data from the various screens into one report, making it even easier to identify areas that need attention. (Look for it at the bottom left of the main screen.) Try the HDX Monitor out under various access scenarios, LAN and WAN, so that you can tune your policies accordingly.
  • HDX Internals web page.  And now, we’ve added a page on the HDX web site to make it easier for you to locate the various tech notes that have been written on HDX. The HDX Internals web page puts them all in one place. Enjoy!
