The call to action for the Citrix sales teams and Citrix partners is loud and clear. Lead with desktop virtualization and cross sell networking. For those of us who attended Citrix Summit 2010, we saw this message front and center during Al Monserrat’s keynote session.
But how do I do it?
On Monday, Barney Norton and I gave the Summit audience a specific plan on how to do it during From concept to reality: effective Branch Repeater PoCs for XenDesktop and XenApp (SUM204). The session started by reflecting on two questions:
- Why do customers buy Citrix Branch Repeater?
- What leads to a winning PoC?
Key to answering these questions is having a solid grasp on what we are calling the 5K’s. While the 5K’s are fundamentally important to any PoC, they are especially important when factoring Branch Repeater into a XenDesktop or XenApp sales engagement.
Next we introduced the Redirector Mode Sneak Attack. The Redirector Mode Sneak Attack gets right to the crux of how to lead with desktop virtualization and cross sell networking.
The Redirector Mode Sneak Attack is so successful for PoCs because it removes the barriers associated with deploying physical hardware in the data center and branch offices and enables you to prove Branch Repeaters value and gain a larger organization buy in. Let’s take a closer look at the plans benefits:

- Unobtrusive – Redirector mode doesn’t change the network
