On the Citrix Receiver for iPad there are two modes for viewing and moving inside of your application: “Scroll Mode” and “Pan Mode”. At the launch of a published application or XenDesktop, you are automatically in “Pan” mode for version 1.0.1.

In “Pan Mode”, You can pan the screen by dragging one finger to see areas of an application that extend past your display’s viewing area. This is especially helpful if you have “zoomed” and area of the app of desktop and need to move around outside of the area you are viewing.

If you are in an app, lets say PowerPoint, and you need to scroll down the left sidebar to find a slide further down, you would want to be in “scroll mode”. When in “scroll mode”, you can drag a scroll bar, drag and drop or drag and select (e.g. Excel or Word).

At the bottom of the screen there is an mode indicator that flashes to tell you if “scroll mode” is “off” or “on.”

The in-app menu in Citrix Receiver for iPad and iPhone is very easy way to switch between the modes to suit the way YOU work.

See the video below for a quick demonstration.

That’s it! Remember, the modes are a tap away on the in-app menu.
