In a recent blog, Delivering on the Open Promise for Synergy 2010, I talked about a new open approach to seeking nominations for the annual Customer Innovation Award. This year, we opened the nomination process to all of industry to nominate companies that are using virtualization, networking and cloud technology to drive innovation in their business in new and noteworthy ways. And, the response was fabulous! This open, self-service approach increased the breadth of entries we received, with nominations coming in from all over the world in many diverse vertical industries. In fact, we received over 30 nominations from organizations ranging from a gas utility in Japan and a brewery in South America to a health insurance company in the United States. From this pool of entries, eleven companies that best embody the heart of the Innovation Award were chosen as finalists for Citrix Synergy San Francisco (May 12-14 at Moscone West). Nominations continue to come in, and we will choose another group of finalists to be announced for recognition at Citrix Synergy Berlin (October 6-7 at the Estrel Hotel and Convention Center). That will mean over twenty new stories of innovation this year alone – openness at its finest!
The Innovation Award winner named at each Synergy conference will ultimately be chosen by popular vote. The 2010 Innovation Award Finalists are:
- AmBev Corporation
- Avianca Airlines
- Centene Corporation
- Fairfax County, Virginia
- Groupe Promutuel Insurance
