CCEAs average $87,600 per year
ORLANDO, Fla. » 10/31/2001 » Today at Citrix iForum 2001, Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), a leading provider of application serving and portal software and services, announced its top listing in Microsoft Certified Professional Magazines 2001 Salary Survey. Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) was ranked as the second-highest paid IT-certified professional in the Salary By Other Certification category, with an average salary of $87,600 per year. More than 6,000 U.S. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers® (MCSE) from a variety of backgrounds were surveyed in order to gain insight into the state of the certified professional.
The CCEA program is an advanced certification for individuals who have knowledge of Citrix products and experience installing and administering Citrix® MetaFrame XP, Citrix MetaFrame® 1.8, and Citrix management products for enterprise environments. Students receive their CCEA certification upon successfully completing four exams, and after receiving certification as a Citrix Certified Administrator.
The uncertain business environment over the last year has verified what many in the training and certification industry have been saying all along - obtaining specialized certifications set individuals apart from the crowd, said Carol Guzzo, director of worldwide education programs for Citrix. The recognition that Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrators are highly compensated for the experience they bring to the table, highlights the significance certification plays in the future of IT professionals.
It is remarkable that the Citrix credential came in second in salary among IT vendors who offer certification programs. To gain certification from any of these top-rated companies can be considered a shining goal, said Dian Schaffhauser, Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine editorial director. The job market is very tight right now and multiple areas of expertise, proven through certification, give IT professionals a better chance of promotion and finding their next job.
