Citrix MetaFrame XP and NFuse Win Excellence in Technology at Gartner’s Midsize Enterprise Summit

Citrix NFuse Also Earns Editor’s Choice Award from Network Computing Magazine

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. » 2/28/2001 » Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS) today announced it has won the Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for Excellence in Technology for its new Citrix MetaFrame XP™ for Windows® family of application server software and for Citrix® NFuseTM 1.5 application portal software. Citrix was selected for the award from a field of 60 technology vendors by 300 senior-level IT executives who attended the Midsize Enterprise Summit, which features sessions led by Gartner analysts.

Citrix NFuse software was also awarded the Editor’s Choice designation by Network Computing Magazine in a Feb. 19 comparative review of Web browser-based thin-client software. The review praised NFuse for its “very good potential integration with many corporate settings.” The Citrix product, which enables existing, interactive applications to be quickly published without rewrites via a Web portal to users on any standard browser, won a Crossroads 2001 A-List award from Open Systems Advisors in January.

“We congratulate Citrix on winning the Excellence in Technology award, which is determined solely by enterprise IT executives who judged the products on development and application quality,” said Bill Booth, president, Midsize Enterprise Summit. “Their selection of Citrix’s MetaFrame XP and NFuse software was based on product features, the ability to work with existing standards and contribution to the development of future midsize enterprise solutions.”

“We are pleased to have Citrix MetaFrame XP and Citrix NFuse recognized by enterprise executives for achieving a high standard of excellence in both technology design and real-world effectiveness,” said David Weiss, Citrix vice president of Marketing. “Citrix MetaFrame XP with NFuse offers mid-sized organizations a flexible, cost-effective application serving solution with the power to centrally manage and scale their implementation. At the same time, Citrix gives these enterprises the tools to take full advantage of the Internet as an application delivery channel.”

Citrix MetaFrame XP for Windows, which was announced on Feb. 13, is the company’s most powerful application serving and management platform to date. Developed with close customer collaboration and optimized for Windows® 2000 and future Microsoft platforms, MetaFrame XP provides IT departments exceptional growth and management capabilities. It is offered as a product family with three versions tailored to specific customer needs and computing environments. Citrix MetaFrame XP features enhanced centralized system management capabilities, increased leverage of the “Net” (including LANs, WANs, Internet, extranets and intranets), and more flexible application access.

Citrix NFuse is designed to enhance portal solutions by bringing existing, interactive applications to the user - without rewrites. Used in conjunction with a portal solution, Citrix NFuse enables fast, simple integration of corporate applications into the Web portal, as well as a proven, efficient way to manage and deliver these applications. The combination of Citrix NFuse and portal software makes it possible for users to access the complete range of information they need from a single point.
