Melio combines an advanced 64-bit cluster file system with a dynamic cluster volume manager to provide highly available, highly scalable shared storage that allows Citrix customers to best utilize Provisioning Services to centrally create, manage, deliver and maintain their XenApp and XenDesktop farms.

In addition to enabling the HA feature of PVS, Melio reduces storage capacity requirements and provides enhanced performance, dynamic scale-out, simplified image management and maintenance, and reliable, farm-wide image protection without the data and storage management overhead, single points of failure and limited scale-out capabilities associated with replication, file shares and NAS, respectively.

What's more, Melio offers these benefits using external (SAN) storage or internal (server-side) storage, the latter of which allows Citrix customers to create server-side scale-out storage architectures using commodity server and storage hardware that eliminates the high costs (capex and opex) of external storage arrays and dramatically reduces the overall cost of XenDesktop deployments.
