XenClient Licensing

XenClient offers customers different types of licensing models based on the choice of the XenClient edition. This allows for an alignment between the nature of the use and the type of XenClient edition needed.

1. Know your product edition

XenClient Enterprise

Device Licensing

Licenses are assigned to each device*

  • One device
  • Unlimited virtual desktops
*Used for XenClient XT only

XenClient Enterprise for standalone use

XenClient Enterprise offers customers the flexibility of a per user or per device licensing model that aligns with today's enterprise-wide desktop usage scenarios. Both licensing models are based on the total number of users or devices that access the software, regardless of whether or not they use the software simultaneously.

XenClient Enterprise for use with XenDesktop

XenClient Enterprise is included as part of XenDesktop Enterprise or Platinum. When using XenClient with XenDesktop, necessary licenses are included with XenDesktop and correspond with the XenDesktop licensing model purchased.

XenClient Express

XenClient Express is free and does not require a license.
