NetScaler on AWS OverviewThe world’s most advanced cloud network platform on the AWS cloud
NetScaler on Amazon Web Services (AWS) enables enterprises to rapidly and cost-effectively leverage world-class NetScaler application delivery capabilities within their Amazon Web Services deployments. NetScaler on AWS combines the elasticity and flexibility of the AWS cloud with the same power and control NetScaler provides for the most demanding websites and applications in the world. |
Advanced ADC Functionality
L4-7 load balancing brings 100 percent application availability, while improving the efficiency of expensive server and network resources. Compression, caching and TCP optimizations improve user experience by making applications faster and more responsive. Global Server Load Balancing can be used to ensure high availability across AWS availability zones, AWS regions, and between AWS and on-premises datacenters.
Application Security
NetScaler secures applications and networks from a wide variety of threats and attacks, prevents the leakage of confidential data, and protects sensitive communications with application firewall, SSL and SSL VPN capabilities. The NetScaler Application Firewall secures web applications, prevents inadvertent or intentional disclosure of confidential information and aids in compliance with information security regulations such as PCI-DSS. NetScaler allows protection of web servers without degrading throughput or application response times. With proven protection against attacks, NetScaler enables blocking all known and day-zero application-layer attacks, as well as web application behavior deviating from normal application use.
Centralized Management
NetScaler on the AWS environment greatly simplifies meeting SLAs with end-to-end monitoring that transforms network data into actionable business intelligence. Policies are defined and managed using a simple declarative policy engine, with no programming expertise required. NetScaler provides integrated, real-time monitoring of application and client traffic, along with the capability to feed back critical application delivery information to automatically optimize ADC and load balancing policies. All NetScaler solutions include Citrix’s intuitive AppExpert policy manager for easy definition and management of the full spectrum of application delivery capabilities. Policies are defined using simple drop-down dialog boxes and custom expression statements, obviating the need for custom programming and debugging.
Contain Virtual Appliance Sprawl
NetScaler on the AWS platform helps contain virtual appliance sprawl. L4 load balancing, L7 traffic management, global server load balancing, application acceleration and application security functionality are all integrated via a single policy framework, simplifying deployment and ongoing management. This allows customers to manage their application delivery and security with a common policy and management framework.
Hybrid Cloud Environment
With NetScaler on AWS, hybrid clouds that span enterprise datacenters and extend into AWS can benefit from the same cloud networking platform, significantly easing the transition of applications and workloads back and forth between a private datacenter and AWS. The full suite of NetScaler capabilities, ranging from intelligent database load balancing with DataStream to unprecedented application visibility with AppFlow and real-time monitoring of web application traffic with Action Analytics, can be leveraged with NetScaler on AWS.
AWS for Production Delivery
Customers using AWS for production delivery can now front applications running in AWS with the same core cloud networking platform used by the largest websites and clouds in the world. L4 load balancing, L7 traffic management, application acceleration and application security functionality are all integrated via a single policy framework, simplifying deployment and ongoing management. Global Server Load Balancing can be used to ensure high availability across AWS availability zones, AWS regions, and between AWS and on-premises datacenters.
Business Continuity
Customers looking to use AWS as part of their disaster recovery and business continuity plans can rely upon NetScaler Global Server Load Balancing running both on-premise and within AWS to continuously monitor availability of both enterprise datacenters and AWS environments, ensuring users are always sent to the optimal location. Citrix CloudBridge optimizes data transfer and synchronization between various on-premise datacenters and AWS environments.
Development and Testing
Customers running production on-premise but using AWS for development and testing can now include NetScaler within their AWS test environments, speeding time-to-production due to better mimicry of the production environment within their test environments. Citrix CloudBridge optimizes connections between the enterprise datacenter and AWS, securing the connection, speeding transfer of data, and minimizing network costs.
