TCP Flow Control
Networks that are congested (over 40% utilization), lossy (>.25% packet loss), or exhibit latency over 50 ms will cause TCP to back off and slow data transfer. CloudBridge overcomes these TCP design limitations by managing and streaming data between appliances, significantly improving the user experience and maximizing WAN capacity.
Accelerate XenDesktop and XenApp
While Citrix HDX protocol is optimized for both LAN and WAN environments, certain optimizations can only be done at the XenDesktop and XenApp server farm. CloudBridge provides industry-leading acceleration of the Citrix HDX protocol by monitoring and accelerating data in five key ICA channels. For these five channels, data is compressed and de-duplicated, and TCP flows are optimized to ensure that the WAN links are fully utilized. The net result is a 50% decrease in WAN bandwidth required for HDX traffic per user, which decreases WAN network costs for enterprises.
Data Compression and De-duplication
Virtually all data can be compressed and de-duplicated. Unless the data is encrypted or already compressed, network administrators can expect an average of 2:1 to 3:1 compression on the data flowing across the WAN, doubling or tripling the WAN’s capacity. De-duplication “remembers” data that has already traversed the WAN and inserts a token in place of a block of data, so redundant data is never sent over the WAN twice.
Accelerate individual characteristics of protocols on a WAN. Some protocols are chatty, and some protocols, such as Microsoft CIFS and MAPI, have timing and response characteristics that respond to targeted optimization techniques. Citrix HDX, already highly WAN optimized, can still significantly benefit from network-based WAN optimization techniques like TCP flow control and de-duplication.
Create secure tunnels between any enabled locations. Layer 2 GRE bridging is initiated to create a secure IPSEC tunnel to extend your enterprise network with transparency and ensure that your data remains secure as it traverses the optimized tunnel.
