Style Sheet

The templates use a linked Cascading Style Sheet:

Includes redefined HTML tags as well as custom classes referenced by the page templates.

  • Citrix may revise the style sheet from time to time. Because the templates use the live style sheet from Citrix.com, any such changes will be automatically reflected in your pages.

Acceptable usages of each custom class are shown in the page templates.

Use of HTML font tags, augmenting or overriding the classes, should be kept to a bare minimum. Remember that unnecessary use of HTML font tags will only make your pages more cumbersome to maintain and update.

Style sheet do's...

  • Do use the style sheet to specify all of your HTML.
  • Do use the style sheet "as is" — it is not meant to be the basis for a custom version of another design.
  • Do reference classes in all lower case (some versions of some browsers are case sensitive to class references).

Style sheet dont's...

  • Don't copy the text from the style sheet to make your own local version.
  • Don't modify or add to the style sheet.
  • If you must add your own classes, do so sparingly in a separate, independently linked style sheet, and seek approval from Citrix Web Marketing.
  • Don't reference classes using mixed case (some versions of some browsers are case sensitive to class references).

Include the iepngfix.htc file in the root directory of your site.

The iepngfix.htc file is refereced by the linked Style Sheet to ensure that PNGs render correctly in Internet Explorer 6. In order to work correctly, this file must be placed in the root directory of your site. Download the htc file.

      The Citrix universal style sheet is an excellent base for preserving the look and feel of Citrix online content across the globe. But, the style sheet is of little value if the appropriate usage of classes within the sheet is left to individual interpretation.

      The templates in the Citrix Online Brand Standards Kit show the appropriate usage of classes in the sheet. Approval of your property may be withheld by Citrix Web Marketing if you choose to re-interpret the use of classes in your property. Please look for precedents in the templates and let those precedents guide your application of the classes.
