Citrix Adds WAN Optimization to NetScaler SDX PlatformOpen NetScaler Platform Adds Virtualized Branch Repeater Service to Help Customers Build Scalable Service Delivery Networks |
SANTA CLARA - Citrix Systems today announced a new virtualized service for its NetScaler® SDX™ service delivery networking platform that accelerates applications and desktop traffic delivered from cloud or enterprise data centers to branch office employees. The addition of Citrix® Branch Repeater™ services to the NetScaler SDX platform complements the company’s recent announcement of consolidated core networking services that were once traditionally delivered via separate appliances. This customer-driven innovation helps Citrix customers leverage an open, virtualized platform to build a comprehensive service delivery fabric and enable cloud-ready networks.
The virtualized NetScaler SDX architecture is designed to support networking services from Citrix, as well as from third-party companies — and deliver these capabilities at the massive scale for which NetScaler is universally known. NetScaler SDX platform integrates web application delivery, load balancing, application firewall security, SSL VPN remote access and now, WAN optimization. The new WAN optimization service also incorporates advanced optimizations for Citrix HDX™ technology, delivering an unprecedented 1 Gbps of Citrix® XenDesktop® traffic to remote and branch office users accessing virtual desktops and apps. Citrix customers benefit from the ability to deploy a single platform on which they can run multiple virtualized services, while still leveraging a common management console.
