Wes Wasson

Senior Vice President
of Strategy

Wes Wasson is senior vice president of strategy for Citrix, responsible for leading the company’s overall business and market strategy. In addition to being a leading industry visionary in mobile and cloud computing, he is also well known for his rare talent for injecting both inspiration – and a sense of humor – into everything we do at Citrix. In a recent survey of Silicon Valley companies and their employees, in fact, Wasson was recognized by the Bay Area News Group as the top leader in Silicon Valley.

Wasson joined Citrix in August 2005 through its acquisition of NetScaler. He went on to serve as SVP and Chief Marketing Officer for Citrix from 2006 to 2012, leading the strategy, product, and market success that helped transform Citrix into an industry leader. Prior to joining Citrix, Wasson held senior leadership roles at Sun Microsystems and Network Associates as part of his 25 year career in Silicon Valley.

Wasson received his MBA from the University of Phoenix, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Biola University where he received the President’s Award as top overall graduate.

In 2012, Wasson announced his intent to step down from the CMO role at Citrix to begin working on plans for a new social enterprise startup focused on helping people impacted by extreme poverty around the world. Wasson will continue to serve as SVP of strategy for Citrix through the first half of 2013 to advance Citrix corporate and product strategy and assist with the CMO transition.
