HDX Broadcast
Ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity over any network
HDX Broadcast optimizes the reliability and performance of hosted virtual desktops and applications in a VDI environment over any network, enabling high definition user experience when accessed on the corporate network or from outside the corporate network for remote desktop access. These capabilities include:

- Adaptive TCP flow control Powered by Citrix Branch Repeater, mitigates TCP performance penalties and maximizes bandwidth utilization.
- Adaptive compression Powered by Citrix Branch Repeater, reduces ICA bandwidth consumption by applying optimal compression techniques based on real-time conditions.
- Adaptive protocol acceleration - Powered by Citrix Branch Repeater, provides intelligent acceleration of the ICA virtual protocol by sensing and responding to the network and traffic conditions.
- Traffic prioritization and QoS - Powered by Citrix Branch Repeater, allows administrators to define rules that indicate which applications and ICA virtual channel traffic receive the highest priority.
- Instant mouse-click feedback When interacting with hosted applications and desktops, this feature signals the user that their click has been registered and that processing is taking place.
- Instant text-entry feedback When interacting with hosted applications and desktops over a high latency connection, this feature ensures that text appears on the users screen in real-time while the keystrokes are enroute to the server-producing a seamless experience.
- Auto-client reconnect If a network disruption occurs, the client and the server automatically re-establish the connection, minimizing disruption to the user and avoiding the need to log back in to the session.
- Queueing and tossing Intelligently analyzes the queue of drawing commands and omits those that are not needed to provide an accurate, responsive display to the user. By optimizing what commands need to be sent, this saves bandwidth on the network, as well as processing time on the client.
- Virtual channel bandwidth control Allows IT to limit the amount of bandwidth consumed by each virtual channel within the ICA protocol. IT can also limit the amount of bandwidth consumed by the entire ICA connection.
- Session reliability When accessing hosted applications in unstable network environments, the receiver and controller work together to maintain session operations. If connectivity is lost, the session is seamlessly resumed when connectivity is restored.
- Bandwidth estimator Dynamically adjusts ICA bandwidth consumption to meet the needs of the available bandwidth. When bandwidth is scarce, the estimator causes ICA to limit bandwidth consumption to a minimum in order to be as thin as possible on the wire. When bandwidth is more plentiful, the estimator allows ICA to consume more bandwidth in order to maximize user experience.
- Priority packet tagging Enables Citrix Branch Repeater and other WAN quality of service solutions to prioritize ICA virtual channel traffic.
- Virtual channel prioritization Enables administrators to assign a processing and communication priority to each channel within the ICA protocol.
